Our Mandate

Operated from its base in Lumby, BC the non-profit Monashee Trail Society was established in 2021 to create non-motorized public trails. Governed by a volunteer board, it fosters appreciation for nature and invites community involvement through memberships, planning meetings, and activities. Annual memberships provide benefits such as trail development and social connections.
Our Board
Formed in 2021, we are a non-profit society, governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. Our first Annual General Meeting was held in November 2022.
Members and New Members are welcome to attend our AGM and monthly Board Meetings which are the second Tuesday of each month. Please join our newsletter and follow our Facebook page for possible date/time changes.
Our Beginning
Monashee Trail Society (MTS) was formed in 2021 with the intention of being part of supporting and developing BC’s sustainable network of trails. The Society’s founders, Lindsay Cochrane, Steve Cochrane, and Suzanne Schneider started with their passion for the outdoors and a vision for anyone who lives in the Lumby area to be able to access area trails, and contribute their knowledge, talent and skills toward establishing the MTS.
